The weekend never has felt so short. It was packed with happy people and happy outings and then monday hit with a vengence. I hadn't done my work over the weekend!! *short yelp*

So it's already wednesday and slowly but surely, Im' picking up and pace and trudging along. It's kinda harsh to go to school when the sun isn't even up yet, do work where time permits, eat at the crappy canteen, do a little more work after school and at home, and do more work at night. It's never ending! I'm doing work even when I sleep and that irritates me alot. I think about the lesson plans before going to bed and even in my dreams. Geeeeez I need some mind soothers or something. My mind's in a league of its own!

Yesterday's fieldtrip to Giant dampened my teaching spirits for quite awhile. I wondered how children could be soooo annoying and how I was going to teach them if I was assigned to this class. One morning and I was already feeling like I wanted to strangle all 18 of them. But one observation in a primary one class set things right today. It was cute-ness overload. They were soo innocent and sooo angelic. I found my drive once again and so maybe the next time I'm feeling all down about teaching, I should go walk past a primary one class. : )

Well anyway! I should stop wasting time and start doing work again. Somehow tuition seems like my relax time these few days haha so sad! To pamper myself I went for a haircut too... and I look a little tutu now but am loving the new fringe! I had so many protests from the family about my previous fringe. Hmph.

Pics from the weekend!

First it was breakfast with the babes at Holland V. Fantastic time catching up on each other's lives and talking about life in general : )

Series of let's make some funny face pics!

I like this one alot!

Then it was steamboat at my house for the family. So Hean was grabbed for some funny pics : )

Sunday was then spent in Jason's place... and for the first time I met his part of his extended family. : ) It was a nice warm affair, and before I could embrace myself for monday, 610am came with a bang. And guess what!! My parents are off to Shanghai for 10 days, so it means 545am mornings. Le sigh sigh sigh. I'll live through it!!!

Quick post to upload the pics... well cny was great in terms of food and the wonderful bbq at aunty dan's house where it was all warm and lovely. More food to come this weekend!! cny was bad because all of a sudden i had a bout of slight depression and sensitivity hit it's max. Which I am still grappling a little with now but it'll pass.

Of course not forgetting more work too... to try and get things started with the weekend time. 2 days into practicum and well I'm still trying to sink into the school environment to fully immerse myself into the culture and whatnots. Then again... day 2 and MY FEET ALREADY FEEL LIKE THEY'VE BEEN TORTURED. Sigh. In desperate need of shoes... and it's cny and I've been red-carded but heck my feet are screaming!!

I've gotta settle some stuff for now.. then head to bed. I'm so so tired already and the last 2 periods in particular, really test my observation skills amidst fighting sleeping spells and my uncooperating nodding head.

My sister just said that my hair smells like 'school hair'. -cries and rips hair- I DON'T WANT MY HAIR TO SMELL LIKE THOSE GRUBBY LITTLE BOYS AND GIRLS!!!!!! -attempts running to the toilet to wash hair like mad-

Spastic moment I know. Hahaha. But I'm kinda grossed out!! Ok lar shall wash my hair once more. URGH.

Pics!

Stuffed from reunion dinner...

Kel and her gifts for upcoming bday.

Bright and early on CNY day 1 morning

With Clauds... Sometimes mischevious, but still out little girl nonetheless

I feel as if hours are not long enough to accomodate all that I would like to do. Every morning I wake up and it's zip outta the house. When I finally tumble home, there's a ton of work to be done and when i'm halfway through, the only relaxation is in the form of a hot shower. I've been sooo stretched, mentally and physically.

My patience nearly gave way, and I was on the verge of ripping my hair out at a certain someone. How that level of EQ was reached, I have no idea but it bothers me till now. And I feel like I could write an entire essay about my resentment, frustration and pure disbelief.

In other news, I went to my school today and received the official timetable. I'm gonna be a teeeeecccchhhheeerrrrr!!!!!!! Went stationary shopping with kim thereafter and got ourselves crazyy and excited. : ) I think after re-typing my timetable though, I think it sorta dampened my excitement. Hahaha.

Tonight I feel funny. Because I am leaving for KL later in the morning, and I haven't packed entirely yet. I was soo caught up preparing some surprises for 2 very special people, together with Aps and I'm soo happy with the end product! Pictures soon when they unravel their surprises! But anyway, I feel even funnier because my boyfriend went for a once in a blue moon party and he has gone missing. It's almost 2am and I haven't heard anything from him! Righto. My eyes tell me to go sleep but my heart wonders if something has gone wrong somewhere. I hope not. But it's not his usual nature to go missing like this. Esp when its already 2am?!?!?!

Sheesh. My mind works overtime when it comes to about 130am.

*Edit: My Boyfriend is alive!!!*

Gonna sleep.

Oh yes, Happy Chinese New Year in advance!!! May you collect lotsa hongbaos this year and divulge in many yummmmmy yummmmyyy delicacies. : ))

Happy Birthday Dad : ) : )

Well it was yesterday, and we were supposed to plan a surprise get-together for him to celebrate his big 60th with close friends and family, but it didn't fall together unfortunately due to a lac of spirit and coordination. Sigh! Perhaps when he hits 65? Hahaha.. but it was a heartwarming dinner nonetheless at Turf City. The wait for the food was long, but yummylicious!! I think the last time I headed to Ah Yat seafood restaurant was years back. Seemed to taste much better then though! So we laughed and talked and ate and came back for a cake-cutting session. Hope Dad enjoyed his day and may his lucky number strike 4D. Wahahahah : )

And....

A lovely lovely advance vday present!! I absolutely cannot wait to flip through those delicious pages and laugh myself silly, but CCL and CED has to come first. Bummmer!!!! Well I guess sneaking in a few pages at 'break times' won't hurt that much. Hurhurhur.. Thanks for the book love!

I have some goals set out for tonight, to be started on after a shower. I hope I can finish soon so as to squeeze in an epi of grey's before heading to bed!! Sigh. Self control, please come to me!

Happy me, out.

Meet my new beauty : )

I went for lunch with Jason this afternoon and ended up in Harvey Norman looking at all-in-one printers. I'd been meaning to get one since last year I think in lieu of the upcoming practicum, but never quite got my foot down to it. So today was perfect, cos I went into the shop and Easy Peasy's mother was there! She got me staff discount so I was more than happy to purchase the printer there and then. Jason picked out a wireless presenter for himself too given the discount!

Happily we trudged home and set everything up and marvelled at the good quality prints etc etc.. My initial plan to get a Canon one was thrown out of the window the moment I saw this sleek beauty and what's better, it was at an affordable price and had good reviews about it! It has everything that I want : ) Photocopier, scanner and printer that can print photos as well. Bonus was the card reader and screen to select the photos from. Sooo pretty!

Then, I called mum to share the good news. THEN, she told me she actually knew some HP people and could have gotten it for less than what I paid. Immediate thought: "OH MY GALLOPING GUMDROPS, SHITEMAMA!!! " Well for now, I've more or less stomached that sore fact that I paid more than I could have.

And thus my new beauty's name shall be, galloping gumdrops. : )

What a great start to the week : )

Started the morning with a meeting with my supervisor and he turned out to be quite a jolly good man, but more of that to be revealed in April I suppose. Then I headed to town for a spot of shopping with Elaine and Tracia but despite the mood being set to "GRABBB!!!", we didn't. Perhaps tmr huh girls! But I had fun nonetheless, sharing jokes and laughing ourselves silly. I'm really thankful for this CCL module I suppose, because it has reunited me back with these 2 babes who are always full of joy and laughter. Just the other day as we rode on the bus together at night, it brought back memories of how we used to moan after jap class in semester 2. How our tutor had the yuckiest breath ever. Hahaha!!

Anyway, guess what. The laughter didn't stop when we waved our goodbyes. I laughed even harder at my first aerobics class at the community centre. The instructor was somesort of an old aunty but full of energy and broken english. In fact everything was soo funny I ended up with stitches. Plus she didn't give any chance at all. For the full one hour, the room was filled with crazy people with crazy hair prancing around the room like crazy monkeys. I kid you not!! She just kept going and going and going till my legs and arms felt detached from the main body itself. My shoe carved a slight dent in my foot and it hurt. My sides ached from laughing at how others were prancing like mad monkeys but could still smile and admire themselves in the mirror. Aps and I nearly collided into one another at one point in time. The aunty-fied instructor rolled up her top and tucked it under her sportsbra revealing her big round tummy. Then she breathed in and 2 pieces of flesh hung out and she said "Yeaahhh see??? MUSCLE!!". That I couldn't tahan anymore. It was hard to contain the giggles any further. I looked down on the floor hard and didn't dare lift my head up. Oh yea there were also china ladies who didn't pay for the course but crashed in anyway, with slippers and their long flowy skirts. Hmmmm.

It was INSANE. But at the end of it all, the sweat was all worth it and I'm defo looking forward to the next lesson of more energizer bunny prancing!

Then I rushed home for tuition and finally when I settled down after a nice hot shower I realised oh sweet geez, I had completely forgotten about the CED online forum thing. Well I guess this morning I conveniently woke up and thought to myself, YESSS its the RELAX week! *bangs own head*

And as tired as I may be now, my mind is still ticking fast and furious. But I guess I should get some sleep. Because... ford factory, here I come tmr!

Memoirs from our fieldwork process right from the start...
Warning: Truckload of photos up ahead!

Started off along the Singapore River...

Tried to blend in but it obviously didn't work out.

Then we arrived at the civil defence heritage gallery and knew at once that this was IT!!

There were times when the work just got too much and tracia and i sat on the steps in despair and totally worn out.... (while Elaine happily still snaps away)

A series of photos taken at 'Dennis' our favorite fire engine!

Due to the monotony of discussing work, work and more work, I decided to let my hair loose and just go slightly off-key for humor purposes...

But it got a little out-of hand.. and I became a little madder...

Ta-daaah!! Officially, cranky.

Work done, so we go do a weee-bit of shopping!

I helped water/drown the plants. The hose, is POWER!

Wobbling high up on the platform!!

Inside an operational fire engine....

Trying out some funky but expensive!! hairbands at ps. : )

Successfully executed!!

Couldn't miss out on a pic with the legendary man himself.

SCDF Personnel for a day. : ) : ))

Well, at the end of it all I only have one thing to say and that is... Thanks so much u guys, for all the fun, laughter and joy that we've shared. Of course.. not forgetting the hard work, brain killing discussions and occassional spot of bitching. Hurhur. : )))

THE crazy week has finally passed. : ) : ) : )

Well at the end of it all, I'm just glad I can finally slow down to wake up at a leisurely time, think about what to do for the rest of the day and basically relax. It hasn't been easy coordinating everything, and neither has it been easy getting over some hurdles. Then again, the post section of it all hasn't all been smooth and mind settling. But we all learn to give and take... and learn from mistakes if any. So to the one in retrospect, learn to just take things in your stride because worry always causes distress to yourself and those around you. Seriously, what's the point in dwelling over something that 'could' have been done better? Look ahead and work forward!

Yesterday I felt a huge sense of relief. That it all went smoothly and as planned. I felt kinda empty too though, knowing that our goal had been reached and all our planning.. everything executed! And to have our work appreciated was the best bonus ever. : ) Now what's left is to come up with the report!

And also not forgetting, a meet-up with my supervisor for the upcoming practicum. This semester in NIE has been short. On the contrary, I feel as if it has been the semester where most things have happened.

Easy Peasy time : )

P.s Hope you have a safe flight tess!!
